Well Oppo, I, as a Canadian, am IN NO WAY happy with what happened last night - I’m scared for MY country because of how economically tied and otherwise we are to our American neighbours. But, it is a new day, and a result is a result. The election is over, and things cannot be changed.
Back to the cars for me...I’ll be processing it all in my head and wondering how this ever happened, but it’s not your concern what I think now that everything’s done. We’ll see what happens I guess.
Now that I’ve said all that...
Early morning FIAT....in BROWN (*cough* non-factory color *cough*)! :D

Should I run ads on Canadian TV showing sane American hockey fans who are upset asking “Won’t you help these poor, hockey loving, maple syrup eating, sane Americans by sponsoring them to live in Canada?”
Maybe pictures of cute bunnies and Sarah McLachlan as the speaker.

you know, between the two of them, trump is the lesser evil IMO. Yess they are both nutjobs, but Trump is a businessman first and foremost. I don’t see any negative changes with him as pres.
Hillary...not so much

Thinking if I should take advantage of this shocked market and rebalance my retirement funds now. Surprisingly CAD hasn’t been hammered yet, not as bad as MXN.

Please invade us next year. You can forcibly annex the state of Washington. I won’t put up a fight.

Trump is less a businessman and more a guy who inherited a businessman’s money and then began string of business bankruptcies.
On the plus side, imaging how easy it would be for him to deal with the national debt!!!!!...

We’ll wait for January and burn the White House again if you want

All kidding aside, I’ve often wondered how our neighbors to the north live. I imagine it’s just like America, only cleaner. And with cooler cars since the import ban is only 15 years.

NY too please! We already have more Tim Hortons than Starbucks, it wouldn’t take much to get us to join glorious Canada.

Cute beavers, baby Canada Geese and baby moose would get you better results!

In THAT case, I may have to pass....I work at a Tims on the side as one of my 4 part time jobs, and I cannot stand it there.
The donuts are good though! :P

It’s pretty much you guys, except saying Eh and Sorry all the time, and dealing with a bunch of snow.

I was hoping it might go the other way if the USD dropped (cheap car parts!!!) but yeah it’s probably more likely to go down with the rest of the ship...

I’ll accept beavers and moose as good additions.
Geese? Only if you clean up after them.
EDIT: Goddamn autocorrect

Knowing how volatile things are, it would not be surprising for that to happen.

Out on the massive, heavily populated global powerhouse that is Nova Scotia. :P

Too bad the Republicans couldn’t have pushed him off and gone on with Pence.

I would have been happy if they shoved him aside the way the Blue Jackets shoved aside the Habs.
EDIT: for poetry
Carey Price wears red.
My pants are twill.
When he’s not in goal, the score’s 10 to nil.
Although I suspect it was the Leafs turn to be back on form against LA. I’m sorry, but did they just forget they were actually playing a hockey game?

Their other stuff is gold. My favorite is The Last Saskatchewan Pirate. :P

NHL powerhouse? :) You guys are doing something right
OK. Well, in the GTA and particular but the heavier populated areas of Ontario in general, geese are a pest. It’s legal to kill them at any time iirc. There are far too many of them due to people feeding them and so on, and they’re big powerful birds with a nasty vicious streak. Seriously, they could kill or seriously injure a toddler, and if the kid happened to wander near the nest it WOULD be attacked, so it’s not totally unlikely. They’re always in flocks, so there’s crap EVERYWHERE. Seriously, TO’s beaches have been make fit for human use largely due to dog patrols to clear the geese off. And of course you then have the key trait of wandering into the roads slowly and deliberately, and of COURSE we have people who hammer the brakes for them. Wrong pedal dudes...

You mean with cannon? I could get behind that...
Must have. That said, I expected a loss... I mean, among others, they have Anze Kopitar (who led the team that damn near toppled Canada) and Drew Doughty (probably the best defensman in the NHL), and a team that has 2 quite recent cups... but I never expected a blowout like that. Where was the speed? They let several guys just breeze in behind them and seemed completely unable to catch up.

A cent isn’t really anything to be worried about. Start panicking if you start seeing 1.6. I mean look at crude and other resources.

I’m stuck here ATM and for the forseeable future. Besides... I’m comfortable where I am. There’s downsides, like stupid speed limits, sky-high insurance, high house prices and the aforementioned geese, but on the other hand... the limits are pretty similar everywhere in Canada, geese I can run over or shoot, I prefer fresh water swimming to salt and we have some awesome lakes, the population means there’s lots to do and business is often there for the taking.
But then, you guys get awesome winters. Hmm.

I don’t think we’ll have a huge economical hit as that. We were still pretty strong after the 2008 issue.

I hate to say it, but I’d have to put Karlsson in the “Best defenceman in the NHL” pot too.
God that huts to say that.
